Founded by George Birlant in 1922, Geo. C. Birlant & Co. (Antiques) is one of the southeast’s most gifted estate auctioneers. Early on, Birlant was asked to auction the estate of a silent film star out west. The items which did not sell were consigned to him and shipped back to Charleston.
