Pair of Gesto Wall or Ceiling Lamps by Bruno Gecchelin for Skipper, Italy 1970

By Skipper, Bruno Gecchelin

Located in Conversano, IT

Rare and sculptural pair of "Gesto" lamps designed by Bruno Gecchelin for Skipper, Italy, in the 1970s. These striking lights can be mounted on either the wall or ceiling, and are part of Gecchelin's celebrated exploration of architectural lighting design. Each lamp features a white enameled steel base and head, connected by two semicircular chrome tubular arcs (2 cm in diameter). The design clearly echoes Bauhaus influences, with a minimal yet expressive geometry-a refined blend of form and function typical of Gecchelin's work. These lamps were published in Domus Magazine (November 1979), a testament to their cultural and historical relevance within Italian modernist lighting. Please note: This item is in a very good vintage condition. Minor signs of age may be present but do not affect its functionality. We kindly ask you to consider these characteristics prior to purchase. Sculptural ashtray attributed to Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte 1970

Sculptural ashtray attributed to Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte 1970

By Albano Poli

Located in Conversano, IT

Refined sculptural ashtray attributed to Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte, made in Murano between the 1950s and 1960s, an impeccable example of the submerged glass technique that made the master famous. The work features a faceted body of great geometric purity, shaped from a single solid block of multi-layer glass: an internal core with intense amethyst shades emerges through a crystalline band in blue tones and then yellow, creating an extremely sophisticated luminous dialogue. The external surfaces, hand-ground with absolute precision, are articulated into inclined planes and diamond cuts that refract the light and transform the volume into a true optical sculpture. The hollowed interior reveals a soft cavity, perfectly smoothed, typical of Poli's poetics, in which transparency and color seem to merge into a single fluid mass. The contrast between the geometric rigor of the external faces and the roundness of the submerged core gives the work a visual balance of rare elegance, while the amethyst-aquamarine chromatic combination represents one of the most sought-after palettes of mid-century Seguso production. The object, of notable weight and crystalline quality, is an extraordinary example of Murano mastery in postwar artistic glass and constitutes an iconic piece for collectors and connoisseurs of Italian submerged glass. Excellent vintage condition - we note only a small chip of 1 mm as shown in the photographs. Radical Italian Sofa Le Stelle by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, 1970
Radical Italian Sofa Le Stelle by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, 1970

Radical Italian Sofa Le Stelle by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, 1970

By Mario Bellini, B&B Italia

Located in Conversano, IT

Designed by Mario Bellini and produced by B&B Italia in the late 1970s, Le Stelle is one of the most emblematic creations of Italian design from that decade, an expression of the formal and technological research that defined the celebrated partnership between Bellini and the Novedrate-based company. The sofa stands out for its fluid and enveloping silhouette, built on a supporting structure in iron and steel that holds a cold-moulded polyurethane foam and Dacron® fibre padding—cutting-edge materials developed by B&B Italia in collaboration with its internal research centre during the golden age of Italian industrial design. Its profile, both soft and architectural, opens in a visual embrace: the inclined armrests unfold outward like wings, while the curved backrest and generous cushions define a deep, informal comfort. The name Le Stelle evokes a cosmic dimension, typical of Bellini’s poetic and experimental language, who at the time conceived the sofa as a microcosm of form, function and material. The upholstery is the original period fabric, an elasticised textile with diagonal stripes in shades of pink and salmon—a rare and refined chromatic combination that has preserved its authenticity. The original B&B Italia label, still present beneath the seat, certifies its provenance and the patented materials (Lycra®, Polysoft®, Dacron®), offering direct testimony to the company’s technological philosophy. Beyond its aesthetic value, Le Stelle represents a historical document of Italian radical design, where comfort and experimentation coexist in perfect balance. This example, preserved in its original integrity, is a true collector’s piece for enthusiasts and connoisseurs of 20th-century design, as well as a sculptural and poetic presence in any contemporary interior. It shows minimal signs of age, such as a few lateral marks, documented in the photographs and removable with a specific treatment, but is generally in excellent vintage condition.
