More About Phillips Gallery

Phillips Gallery opened its doors to the Utah public in 1965. Bonnie and Denis Phillips (pictured) set up shop in a former dry-cleaning building, confident that they could create an establishment which would both promote and advance Utah art. It was the first venture of its kind, by and for a group of forward-thinking artists.

Now, 56 years later, Phillips Gallery houses the largest stable of artists in the state. Our three floors of exhibit space feature rotating exhibits of painting, sculptures, photography, original jewelry, and ceramics. At its core, Phillips Gallery remains committed to its original goal: to represent a diverse selection of some of the finest regional artists in a comfortable, service-oriented atmosphere.

Our main floor is dedicated to exhibiting new work by 1 - 3 artists, rotating every month. (pictured: Main Gallery exhibit by Heather Barron and Nancy Vorm)

Our extensive upstairs gallery (where Bonnie and Denis Phillips used to live) displays rotating work by all of our artists, in a uniquely casual setting.

Our downstairs floor, the Dibble Gallery, also features a new solo show each month. (pictured: encaustic and found metal paintings by Elena Lawrence)

Diversity is an essential element at Phillips Gallery; style and subject matter range from traditional to contemporary. (pictured: painting by Joseph Ostraff)
