This robust demi-lune trough was hand carved in Normandy, France, in the 1800s. The stone used was a local granite, which is difficult to work with due to its hardness. Dark gray in color, with a natural dotted beige, white, and brown patina, the granite has an undulating texture, partly due to the many years of weathering the elements. There is a small drainage hole in the center of the basin, but an additional drainage hole would likely need to be drilled if this is to be installed as a sink.
