Stunning, extremely large foundry Crucible with incredible glaze and patination to the outside formed by the pouring and splashing of the molten metal adhering to the sides of the Crucible.
This one was probably used for aluminum, which has created a wonderful unique blue texture to the exterior of the pot. These are extremely large pieces that have come directly from a Coventry Foundry. This pot has a large spout to one side, to allow the molten metal to be poured.
Would make a wonderful large garden planter or could be used as a garden water feature...

19th Century Spanish Toledo Urn marked "Padilla Villarrobledo" on Custom Stand
Located in Atlanta, GA
A large Spanish toledo urn from the late 19th century on custom iron stand. This beautiful Tinaja (Spanish for clay jar) has a single spout near the bottom and is marked/carved at one side with "Padilla Villarrobledo", the village from where this jar originates, and additional numbering information below. The jars were used to store and cool water. They were also used in the aging process in wine making as the clay would allow the wine to breathe and not have an effect on taste as wood barrels do. Though the jar has a nice height of approximately 55", the custom iron stand raises it just over 5 feet in height. This 19th century Spanish Tinaja...
