Chinese Export Porcelain European-subject Punch Bowl, Sailor's Farewell and Return Bowl with Royal Navy Ship, Circa 1765-75 The Chinese Export porcelain bowl has two images of a sailor and his wife, one known as the sailor's farewell and the other the sailor's return. The farewell depicts the sailor leaving his wife who hugs him as he is about to depart as he points to the Royal Navy Ship with the Blue Ensign just offshore. The sailor's return depicts the sailor depositing watches and coins into his wife's upraised apron. Between the images are large painted flowering branches and the interior has similar painting. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Georgian English sterling silver locking tea caddy; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique George III sterling silver locking tea caddy has a navette, paneled shaped form. The body of this silver tea caddy box is embellished with bands of bright cut engraved volute spiraling leaf ornamentation on a matte background to the upper and lower portions; these bands flank a plain undulating bordered panel. The ornamentation to the surface of the caddy alternates with panels of concave vertical fluted decoration. This antique Georgian tea caddy is retains the original hallmarked flush hinged covers; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece. The cover is embellished with further bright cut engraved undulating borders accented with bud motifs, in addition to simplified borders paralleling the domed paneled portion; the domed portions reflects the incurved shape of the body. This impressive cover is surmounted with a cast sterling silver urn style finial, in the Classic Adams style. The caddy retains the original fitted fully working lock and functional key. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Georgian English sterling silver sweetmeat basket; an addition to our ornamental silverware collection This exceptional antique George III sterling silver wire basket has a plain rounded oval form onto a swept foot. The body of this impressive basket consists of wirework pales accented to the interior surface with applied and embossed fruiting vine ornamentation and grape clusters. The rim of the basket is encompassed with a plain applied undulating border. This Georgian basket is fitted with a fine and impressive swing handle, embellished with barley twist terminals incorporating a central handpiece ornamented with further applied fruiting vine decoration. The anterior portion of the rounded base is ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of between wings two hands clasped together in a handshake. The concaved central well of the basket is plain and unembellished. This impressive basket retains an original invoice from the prior purchase in 1968; the calculation of historical inflation is the equivalent of £3,443.66. Condition This antique silver wire...
