About the Item

Casulo Cube #2 by Mameluca Material: Electrostatic Aluminum paint, recycled rubber blanket. Dimensions: D 45 x W 45 x H 90 cm Also available in different dimensions. Opening a cube and transforming it into a plan was the starting point for the creation of this trio of pieces that use three-dimensional artworks and geometric shapes from the Neo-concrete movement as reference in creating their multiple planes. Two materials were combined to detach the outer part of the cube and make the contact area a harmonically shaped piece with the exterior: the metal (also widely used in Neo-Concretist period) and the blanket of recycled tire scrapes. The result is a new and lovely pattern, highlighting the organic lines that can be viewed where the surfaces meet. "Our goal with Design is to tell stories, generating questions, emotions and discoveries through human senses. Contemporary design transcends basic survival needs and leads us to a poetic design of new information and experiences." The studio was launched in 2010 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After 10 years, it’s time to cross the Atlantic and explore the old world not only historically but the way the old has being reinvented everyday based on the needs of the new. We are still in a transitional atmosphere without a physical space, but full of expectations with the new horizon.
