A stunning finely hand-crafted Middle Eastern intarsia table box, mid-20th century, most likely Damascus, Syria, exquisitely handmade, featuring exceptionally executed and intricately detailed micro-mosaic marquetry-work throughout, having a rectangular chest form inlaid with various contrasting exotic woods, mother of pearl, and bone in arabesque geometric patterning. A hinged lid opens to reveal an interior lined with the original white accented worn blue fabric and delicate micro-mosaic inlay to the lid interior. circa 1940s
