Title: Rare antique set of 10 pharmacy bottles apothecary glass with gold leaf Description: Beautiful set of ten pharmaceutical bottles, circa 1900 originally from a chemists in Northern Ireland. Note the exquisite gold leaf framed labels which make them real collectors items (and add value). These elegant bottles lined pharmacy shelves until the late 1920s. We’ve selected the bottles with the most attractive and desirable titles as well as pretty finish and in a variety of sizes and assorted top designs to compliment each other. The rounded stoppers are hand blown glass making them more valuable than the others due to it’s finer craftsmanship, the plain chisel top designs are elegant and feel extremely tackle to the touch fitting perfectly with ones thumb, with some finished with superb hand cut edges which are more labor intensive specimens, and almost reminiscent of a perfume bottle. The shorthand Latin (some ancient Greek) names for these botanical delights gives more detail to be admired. They are all empty but some have a wonderful slight residue of its past contents lining the inside of the bottle. Unusual and stunning treasure as a unique feature to accessorise your interior just as fragrance bottles and cosmetic jars would. Very decorative rare clear glass set of eight different size Italian pressed glass bottles. This set is almost completely animal themed, a duck, a poodle, a dachshund and two fishes. But also a pressed Brutalist large cognac glass a petite blown glass carafe and a pressed so called 'corset' carafe. Mention Italian glass and probably everyone’s mind immediately leaps to Venice and Murano. But there is another almost equally famous centre of Italian glass making known as Empoli. Empoli glass is generally much simpler and does not have the intricately applied trim or decorations associated with Venetian and Murano pieces. The simple traditional styles of Empoli glass were quickly adapted to the abstract shapes of mid 20th century modernism. It became hugely popular as a decorative home accent, and was exported across the world. Now they are highly sought after by international collectors and look beautiful arranged together.
