American Art Moderne revival pair of monumental carved fruit-wood urns with exaggerated gilded bronze handles attributed to Robsjohn-Gibbings, mounted on turned wood ebonized bases. A similar pair of uplights by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings is illustrated in a 1940 photograph showing the John-Frederic's Salon in New York City. Another similar urn can be found atop a pedestal in the Robsjohn-Gibbings decorated living room of the Annenberg Residence in the 1930's (see photo). The pair has its original copper inserts and could also be electrified to turn into a pair of torchiere lamps...
