Late 19th Century Eastlake Style Bronze Eight Light Chandelier
Located in Chicago, IL
This late nineteenth-century gilt bronze and brass Eastlake-style chandelier has four lights, etched glass shades, and foliate scroll details. The Eastlake movement, which spanned approximately from 1870 to 1900, was started by British architect and writer Charles Eastlake and is associated with late Victorian-era aestheticism. Eastlake published his thoughts on design reform. The movement focused on the ethos that furniture in people's homes should be attractive, well-made, and produced by manufacturers who enjoyed their work. Eastlake antique...
