A 20th c., Louis XVI style white painted wood bench with down filled burgundy mohair seat and nail head trim. The bench is unmarked. The paint has been deliberately distressed. The legs have carved detail in both the upright column and in the upper corners. Additional support is in the form of simple stretchers that do not detract from the carved legs.
The down filled cushioned seat is very comfortable, perfect to welcome guests and weary travelers to sit, relax and take their shoes off. The richly colored mohair velvet and nail head trim add an extra element of luxury. With Summer coming to an end and Autumn waiting in the wings, this bench would be a lovely addition in front of a fireplace or log burner...
