Bar Harbor Wicker Sofa

This is a classic Bar Harbor style wicker chair that dates to the first half of the twentieth century. The chair was reupholstered in a cherry red fabric and repainted at some point in the late twentieth century. The chair is in very good condition; the upholstery, although showing sign of use, is in very acceptable condition. We have decided not to restore the chair as the indications of wear are signs of original desirable patina and add character to the chair. This is a very good example of a Gustavian Sofa or Bench that dates to the end of the 18th century or beginning of the 19th century. The sofa is in overall good to very good original condition. It retains its scraped old surface with a wonderful deep natural patina. The arms are slightly outward bent in a neoclassical style.
