Piano stool by the traditional company Gebrüder Thonet, Vienna from the late 19th or early 20th century. The piano stool is made of solid wood and has a frame with a bentwood ring. The curved feet are held together by the wooden ring made of curved wood. The stool is heavy and very stable. Height adjustable from 45 cm to approx. 62 cm with a long spindle. The seat consists of so-called Viennese wickerwork, the other parts are made of solid beech wood with artistic profiles. In this early model the seat ring is still supported by cross-shaped wood, in later models this was replaced by metal. The spindle runs well and has little play. The surfaces are stained dark and coated with shellac. Rare collector's item.
Condition: All screws are tightened. The hand-braided braid was professionally renewed in a Schwerin braiding workshop. The stool has the original Thonet...
