Shani and the Silver Table In the ancient city of Ujjain, there lived a humble artisan named Arjun. He was known throughout the kingdom for his exceptional skill in crafting intricate silverware. His reputation reached the palace of King Vikramaditya, who summoned him to the royal court. “Arjun,” the king began, “I have a special task for you. I want you to create the most exquisite silver table the world has ever seen. It must be worthy of the gods themselves.” Arjun was both thrilled and nervous at the same time. He knew this task would require all of his talent, but he accepted the challenge with determination. As he started working on the table, Arjun poured his heart and soul into the project. He spent days and nights, meticulously crafting each detail, infusing his creations with love and devotion. The design of the table was not just to be a piece of art, but a testament to his faith and reverence to the gods. Unbeknownst to Arjun, the planet Saturn, or Shani, known for its slow movement, was observing him keenly. Shani was known for his strict and fair judgment, often teaching lessons to those who needed guidance. Impressed by Arjun’s dedication, Shani decided to test the artisan’s character. One night, while Arjun was fast asleep, Shani disguised himself as an old man and appeared before Arjun’s humble abode. “I have been traveling for days, young man. Might I find shelter in your home for the night?” Shani asked, his voice feeble. Arjun, a hospitable man, welcomed the stranger inside. He offered him food and a place to rest for the night. As the old man sat by the fireplace, warming his frail hands, he observed Arjun’s silver table taking shape. “Your craftsmanship is truly remarkable, Arjun,” Shani said, his keen eyes watching the artisan’s reaction. “Thank you, sir. I’m honored by your kind words,” Arjun replied, smiling. The old man’s gaze lingered on the table. “It is indeed beautiful, but something seems to be missing.” Arjun frowned, feeling a pang of doubt. “What do you mean, sir?” Shani leaned closer. “It lacks a symbol of divinity, something that will make it truly extraordinary.” Arjun’s heart sank. He had poured his everything into the table, but Shani’s words made him doubt his creation. “Perhaps you’re right, sir,” Arjun said, a touch of sadness in his voice. “But what can I add to make it worthy of the gods?” Shani smiled, revealing his true form. “You’ve already found the answer within your heart, Arjun. Craft a symbol of Lord Shani and place it on the underside of the table.” With these words, Shani vanished, leaving Arjun in awe. The next day, Arjun began crafting a beautiful silver pattern dedicated to Lord Shani. He worked tirelessly, infusing the statue with all his love and devotion. When the table was finally complete, it was a masterpiece, and the tribute to Lord Shani at its center shone with divine energy. As Arjun presented the table to King Vikramaditya, a miraculous event occurred. Lord Shani himself appeared above the table, blessing it with his divine presence. The entire court, including the king, fell to their knees in reverence. From that day forward, the silver table became a symbol of divine craftsmanship and faith. Arjun’s name echoed throughout the kingdom, and the tale of his encounter with Lord Shani was retold for generations, inspiring all who heard it. And Shani, the planet of justice, was pleased to have played a part in the story of Arjun and the Silver Table.
