Beautiful pair of Persian engraved Ghalam-zani Islamic brass vases on Middle Eastern Syrian Moorish style wooden wall decorative brackets. The small Moorish brass vases are finely hand-chased with elaborate designs and presented on hand crafted wooden Arabian brackets inlaid with shell and Syrian fretwork decor. Engraving (Ghalam-zani) is a term, for artistic metalworking, it is one of the original Persian handicraft, the art of engraving and embossing, hammering, repousse and chasing elaborate designs, patterns and shapes on metals such as copper, silver, gold, and brass to form minute detailed reliefs or small engraved patterns. Pair of 18th century Irish Georgian sconces with agate coral and coordinating gold leaf baroque pearls. Fossil agate coral is Florida's state stone and is known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It's a natural gemstone that is created when Prehistoric coral is gradually replaced with agate. The pair is put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. Ottoman Mother-of-Pearl and Ebony Inlaid Wall Bracket Syrian, 19th Century Height 103cm, width 39cm, depth 21cm Inlaid with mother-of-pearl and ebony in intricate geometric and foliate parquetry patterns, this beautiful piece was made in Syria in the nineteenth century during the time of the Ottoman Empire. With a central latticed rectangular panel at the back of the central shelf, with canted corners, it is flanked on each side by pillars with isometric triangular shaped cresting. The upper section, like the lower part, features foliate rather than geometric designs, and the surmount with a crescent finial features a large central roundel enclosing a mother-of-pearl inlaid tughra.
