Bangle Carved Ruby in Zoisite Inner Diameter
About the Item
From the "Things You Don't See Every Day or Even Every Other Day" shelf of my store is this exotic hand-carved bangle. At first glance, it might appear to be a jade bangle. But on second glance it has rubies mashed-up with the green so it can't be jade. And it's not: it is "ruby in zoisite" fropm Tanzania. You know what ruby is. You also know what zoisite is but you don't know you know: zoisite is a mineral that when it's bluish-violet and transparent we call Tanzanite.
The stone has a rich emerald-green body, wild spots and patches of black and vibrant splashes of ruby-red. The result is an eye-catching (and holding) bangle that definitely stands out from the crowd.
The bangle measures 78.08mm from outside edge to outside edge and has an inner diameter of 59mm, which is just about the standard inner diameter for a jade bangle. Mweaning this bangle should fit a small to medium wrist.
Ruby in Zoisite is a wonderfully unique and surprising gem. Like Tanzanite, this stone is found in Tanzania and nowhere else in the world.
