Guilloché is a technique where intricate, repeating patterns are engine-turned into the underlying metal; when covered with translucent enamel and fired, these engraved patterns shimmer beneath the glass-like surface. The result is a dynamic play of light and depth, with the green enamel glowing as it highlights the geometric motif beneath. Over this enamel surface, a raised latticework of gold “struts” is set at regular intervals, creating a trellis-like pattern.
