A Vivid Age

Family Home by Geremia Design in San Francisco, CA

A meticulously reimagined family home in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood, this expansive property exhibits a harmonious blend of historic reverence and contemporary livability. At the heart of this project, Geremia Design and Wade Design Architects restored the character of a 1904 Edwardian house that had been previously stripped of its architectural charm, reintroducing period millwork, moldings, and a gracious wood staircase that anchors the four levels. Within this revived framework, Geremia layered richly hued textiles, vintage and artisanal furnishings, and curated artwork to create spaces that feel both warm and purposeful, thoughtfully accommodating the rhythms of a young, growing family. From serene adult retreats and creative children’s rooms to inviting public spaces and a garden-oriented kitchen, every corner strikes a balance between craftsmanship and playfulness. Whimsical details — from a hand-painted soaking tub “fresco” to custom patchwork window treatments — infuse the residence with personality while honoring its architectural heritage, resulting in a home that is as beautiful as it is enduringly livable.
