The new headquarters for this electronics company based in Culver City is a dramatic departure from typical high tech firm interiors. The founders, who come from contemporary urban music culture looked to the architecture firm, known for our use of color and patterning, to design a campus that reflected their dynamic culture and multi-faceted business operations that encompasses hardware and online steaming services. In renovating two existing large industrial buildings, the team met the musical and technological breadth of the company with a series of architectural gestures that go from pop to cinematic to arty. At 105,000 square feet, the team had to develop a layout that could accommodate working environments for three CEOs, four executives, and up to 600 employees (many who drop in from other offices for short working stints) across more than a dozen departments that span software to hardware.
