Bucktown Home.
Family Home by Dirk Denison Architects in Chicago, IL
Originally constructed as a sculpture artist's studio in the 1980s, this project balances old a new: navigating how to respect the building's post-modern structure while finding contemporary, creative solutions to design a house uniquely suited to our client’s needs.
The original studio space, crane included, is restored and reinvented into a grand room to welcome guests and showcase a collection of modern art. An addition to the home then focuses on crafting a bright and inviting master living space, looking out into the landscape.
