Gloucestershire Barn Conversion

This Grade II-listed barn, nestled in an idyllic Cotswold village, is a remarkable example of a heritage building reimagined for modern living. Dating back to the 17th century, the barn was originally part of a working farmstead once owned by Wadham College, Oxford, and retains many of its original architectural features—including exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, random rubble limestone walls, and a traditional stone slate roof.

Our design brief was to honour the building’s agricultural past while transforming its vast, open spaces into a comfortable and characterful home. We worked with the barn’s impressive proportions to create rooms that feel both expansive and intimate, using layers of rich texture, bespoke furnishings, and a harmonious mix of antique and contemporary pieces.

Tactile fabrics, statement lighting, and a warm, grounded palette bring softness and personality to the interiors, while careful zoning ensures a natural flow between living areas. From the cosy sitting room to the serene bedrooms, each space reflects our signature approach: blending the old with the new to create timeless, soulful interiors that feel entirely at home in their setting.

This project is a true celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and modern country living.
