Hancock Park
Built in 1923, our project in the historic Hancock
Park neighborhood of Los Angeles is a classic
home in the French Normandy style that pivots
seamlessly from formal entertaining to intimate
family life. Our clients were a modern family of
five with a house that needed updating to
accommodate their lifestyle. We honed in on the
goal of creating functional, defined spaces that
allowed the family both comfort and elegance.
Maintaining the traditional aesthetic of the home
was paramount. Special attention was paid to
scale, millwork details and high-quality fittings
throughout. To satisfy the clients’ love of color
and eclectic furnishings, we brought in playful
elements through the use of mid-century lighting
and layered, rich fabrics. We achieved our goal of
creating a family home that will hold memories
for another century and beyond.
