Apartment by MHLI in Brooklyn, NY
Set in an 1882 landmarked Williamsburg building, former site of Smith and Gray department store, this open plan loft conversion is an exercise in riotous color and eclectic bohemian living. The kitchen's hand carved cabinets and full-height ceramic tile backsplash in monochromatic teal anchor the public quarters where a 20-foot-long French mattress window seat, minimalist modular sectional and Gaetano Pesce's iconic 1968 Up chair offer ample varied seating. Dual beaded Yoruban throne chairs anchoring the table in the dining room-cum-library are paired with classic Cherner chairs upholstered in a vibrant magenta wool.
