Roxbury Residence

Family Home by RIOS in Beverly Hills, CA

This striking home spares no detail in recreating the glamorous Hollywood Regency style. The original 1930s Paul Williams-style house was in good condition at purchase, but the new owners wanted to make changes to meet their current lifestyle and taste. The renovated home blends the traditional aspects of the existing house with the owners’ affection for ‘40s, ’50s and ’60s modernism, and provides an ideal place to showcase a large collection of one-of-a-kind furniture from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Furniture purchased from around the world includes superlative pieces by Gio Ponti, Edward Wormley, Piero Fornasetti, Paul László, Paul Frankl, and Karl Springer, among others. Some were restored and reupholstered, but most were kept intact, such as the turquoise-blue breakfast set by Fornasetti, sporting fanciful images of sea life. Rooms are no neutral backdrop with each one decadently treated in both surface materials and color.
