This exceptional antique George V sterling silver tea service has been modelled in the Queen Anne style. The lower portion of each piece is embellished with embossed batwing decoration. The upper portion of each piece of this silver tea set is plain and unembellished. The teapot is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover embellished with further batwing decoration to the domed portion and is surmounted with the original carved painted wood and sterling silver fluted, cushion shaped finial. The teapot retains the original angular carved painted wood handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The teapot is fitted with a swan necked spout ornamented with further embossed batwing decoration to the lower portion.
