What is a camphor box?
1 Answer
Camphor boxes are storage boxes traditionally used to transport precious items like silk, porcelain and tea from China to Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries. Camphor wood served as the material for these highly decorative boxes because it was durable and naturally repellent to moths and other pests. Find a selection of camphor boxes on 1stDibs.
