What is a cockfighting chair?
1 Answer

A cockfighting chair, also known as a reading chair, is designed for the seater to be facing the back of the chair. The chair is curved inward toward the back so that the seater can face the desk while resting their arms at the yoke. These chairs were often depicted in illustrations of cockfights, hence the name, but were used in libraries for reading.
