A Photorealistic artist is an artist whose work reflects the characteristics of the Photorealist art movement. A direct challenge to Abstract Expressionism’s subjectivity and gestural vigor, Photorealism was informed by the Pop art predilection for representational imagery, popular iconography and commercial art and design tools, like projectors and airbrushes.
