What is a Waterbury watch?

The Waterbury Watch Company was established in the late 1870s in Connecticut to give people an inexpensive watch. It was very simply made, featured a nickel-plated case, no cover and it only had an hour hand. Through many buy-outs over the years, Waterbury eventually was folded into the Timex brand.
