What is Patrick Hughes famous for?
1 Answer
Patrick Hughes is famous for his work as an artist. Self-taught, he plays with perspective, optical illusions and figure-ground relationships. Building upon the work of M.C. Escher, René Magritte and Richard Artschwager, Hughes's art forms a bridge between painting, which is static and two-dimensional, and sculpture, which is not. Some of his best-known works include Sticking Out Room, Vanishing Venice, Superduperspective and Leaning on a Landscape. On 1stDibs, find a collection of Patrick Hughes art.
