When was lusterware made?

1 Answer
When was lusterware made?
Lusterware was made during the 19th century. The history of using metallic oxides to decorate tableware actually began in Mesopotamia during the 12th and 13th centuries. However, the tin-glazed earthenware, best known today as lusterware, was manufactured in England starting in the early 1800s. Production of lusterware waned due to shifting trends at the turn of the 20th century. On 1stDibs, shop a range of lusterware.
