When was the first chair invented?

1 Answer
When was the first chair invented?
Although the very first chair to be invented is up for speculation, one of the earliest was created during the Early Dynastic Period of Egypt around 3100 B.C. Early chairs produced by the ancient Egyptians usually featured wood construction and upholstery made of leather or cloth. Interestingly, they were much lower than today's chairs, with seat heights of around 10 inches versus the average modern dining chair seat height of 18 to 23 inches.
