Who designed Gill Sans?

1 Answer
Eric Gill designed Gill Sans. The foundry Monotype introduced the sans-serif font in 1928. In addition to designing typefaces, the British artist worked as a sculptor and a printmaker. He also decorated books. His 1929 edition of The Canterbury Tales was an epic work, with a whole series of beautiful wood engravings. Explore a selection of Eric Gill art on 1stDibs.
