Why is it called a Papasan?
1 Answer

The bowl-shaped papasan chair originated in South East Asia, but it is believed that Americans who first became familiar with the chair during the world wars dubbed it a papasan. The word papasan is a Japanese term that means honouring the father. There is no explanation why this particular word was attached to this bowl-shaped wicker chair.
