Why is it called a rent table?
A rent table was called such because it was originally designed for landlords to use in order to organize the rent monies and paperwork for properties they managed. Popular in 18th century England, rent tables featured an array of drawers around the frieze for this purpose. Browse an array of antique rent tables from top sellers on 1stDibs.
