Commemorate, Original Contemporary Red, White, and Blue Abstract Painting
Located in Boston, MA
Commemorate, Original Contemporary Red, White, and Blue Abstract Painting, 2022 30" x 48" x 1.5" (HxWxD) Acrylic and Ink on Canvas A vibrant color palette of blues, reds, and greens flows across the canvas in abstracted forms that imply the movement of water. It looks as though you are looking up at a distorted image through the movement of the ocean overhead. The red, white, and blue color scheme invokes a patriotic feel, as if you are spending the 4th of July on a lake. Artist Commentary: 30 x 48 x 1.5” gallery wrapped with painted edges. Acrylic and Ink on canvas. This is one in my series of emotionally charged coastal abstract artworks. I used saturated vibrant colors and powerful brush strokes, as I do in all my paintings, in order to create a lasting visual impression. Materials: Professional acrylic paints and canvas. Finished with a glaze of UV varnish to protect against sunlight and dust damage. My art pieces are held in private and commercial collections around the world, including the UK, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Asia, France, Canada, Australia and USA. Margaret Juul...

Cleansing A Shrike/ Blackbird's Bath - Hand coloured Print in Walnut frame
Located in London, GB
Hand-coloured portrait of a bird-like spirit, immobilised in marble, cleansing in a spring-time bath. A character formed from Naiads (a Greek nymph of flowing water), and exploring the idea of a ritualistic cleansing to wash away sombre deeds. Taken from The Sialia Marbles, a series of portraits containing ephemeral human sculptures taken between 2016-19. Together these works act as tales contained in a fictional sculpture hall, in direct reaction to Andre Malraux’s 1947 Le Musee Imaginaire (Museum Without Walls). During the beginning of the 'Museum Age' in the 18th century , writer Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe discussed mythical sculpture...

Fish Study, painting, Reverse painting on glass gold leaf, oil, cobalt, water
Located in Riverdale, NY
Fish Study by Hawaii artist Carol Bennett is a reverse painting on glass artwork. It is Oil, Varnish, Gold Leaf and powdered Cobalt. It is 9x12. Carol Bennett's artwork is a meditative journey through both the water and through life. She is one of the few artists to truly capture what it's like to be in and moving and swimming through the water. For Carol, the act of swimming underwater is similar to the process of painting. Her approach results in multi-layered surfaces that are intricate and textured and unexpected. She is constantly experimenting with her pieces: adding, subtracting, sanding. When she is not painting Swimmers, she is capturing the fish surrounding her. She has created over 100 large public and corporate commissions internationally, and is in private collections around the world. Carol Bennett was recently currently featured in two exhibits at the Honolulu Museum of Art. Networking and Water: Carol Bennett featuring female swimmers, as well as marine nets floating or submerged in water. Bennett was also part of the group exhibit Making Waves highlighting the important role of women artists in the museum’s contemporary collection. In this show, the works by international and Hawaii-based artists all have a relationship to water. Featured artists also included: April Gornik, Agnes Martin, Judy Pfaff, Kiki Smith and Pat Steir! Gaze - contemporary, figurative, landscape, clay and pigment on jute
Located in Bloomfield, ON
This contemporary landscape painting is by Peter Hoffer. The distinctive artwork of this Canadian artist lies somewhere between realism and impressionism. Lauded internationally for his ethereal landscapes Hoffer’s artwork is reminiscent of the idyllic visions of the 19th century romanticists. This piece—a unique mix of clay and pigment on jute captures a view of the countryside…with a single human figure in the center—an almost ghost-like white image who appears to be gazing at the moon. The figure is surrounded by lush foliage painted with expressive brushstrokes in deep greens, aubergine, golden earthy browns and turquoise waters. The sky is a mix of soft blues and blush. "I love landscape painting and one of the reasons I continue to do landscape painting is that these paintings are nowhere specific.” Peter Hoffer “They are profound works from an artist with a clear vision.” Peter Simpson...
