Rinat Goren (Israeli, American, born 1964) "Windows of Opportunity" 2021 Encaustic paint on cradled wood panel The artist signed the bottom right corner of the painting. “Windows of Opportunity” unfolds as a quiet grid of softly rendered rectangles and window-like forms, layered in warm tones of apricot, saffron, pale peach, and muted white. Subtle line work and translucent wax layers give the surface a luminous, atmospheric depth. Goren’s encaustic technique allows each shape to feel both deliberate and ephemeral, evoking architectural plans, urban facades, and moments of pause within a structured environment. The repeated square and rectangular motifs suggest windows, thresholds, and openings, visual metaphors for possibility, transition, and choice. Fine incised lines and faint architectural markings add rhythm while preserving a sense of openness and calm. The painting balances abstraction with suggestion, offering viewers space for contemplation rather than narrative certainty. “Windows of Opportunity” is emblematic of Goren’s practice, which explores systems, repetition, and human-scaled geometry through a restrained, tactile language. About the Artist: Rinat Goren is an Israeli-American artist based in California whose contemporary encaustic works explore the relationship between thought, structure, and emotion. Born in Israel and residing most of her life in the U.S., Goren has long been drawn to both observation and creation, translating the complexity of the human mind into layered visual compositions. Her encaustic paintings—formed by applying molten beeswax mixed with pigment—evoke a tactile, sensory experience that reflects her fascination with systems, decision-making, and the creative act itself. She works with geometry, color, and abstraction to celebrate our innate capacity to reflect, choose, and act with intention. Goren’s process is rooted in one of the world’s oldest painting...

Rinat Goren (Israeli, American, born 1964) "Almost There" 2021 Encaustic paint and paper on cradled wood panel The artist signed the bottom right corner of the painting. “Almost There” is a luminous abstract work created with encaustic and paper on a cradled wood panel. The composition is anchored by a radiant golden field layered with softened geometric forms, linear markings, and a flowing turquoise passage that guides the eye across the surface. Goren’s use of encaustic allows for rich translucency and depth, with molten wax binding pigment and paper into a tactile, atmospheric surface. Repeating rounded shapes and subtle linear rhythms suggest movement, mapping, and quiet progression, while the contrast between warm yellows and cool blues creates a sense of balance and anticipation. The title reflects this visual language, evoking transition, momentum, and the emotional space between arrival and journey. Blending abstraction with a meditative sense of structure, “Almost There” exemplifies Goren’s refined approach to encaustic painting, where color, texture, and process converge. The work is well-suited for collectors drawn to contemporary abstraction, material-driven practice, and pieces that offer both visual warmth and conceptual subtlety.
