Mod Dutch Jewish Artist Untitled, Green Hand Painting
By Eli Content
Located in Surfside, FL
Signed or titled in Hebrew and english.
Eli Content (born in Switzerland 1943) followed in 1974 the education at the Ateliers '63 in Haarlem and received in 1981 his first solo exhibition in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Late eighties he exhibited at the Jewish Museum in New York. From 1982 to 2005 he taught painting at the Christian Academy in Kampen.
In 1989, he first exhibited in the Joods Historische Museum. There he made one Impressive Sukkah cabin consisting of seven panels painted on both sides. His work is in the collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Jewish Historical Museum and the Akzo Nobel Art Foundation. For the New Jewish Museum of Jewish History Museum recently made three major stained glass pieces with the Kabbalistic Tree of Life with the Ten Sefirot.
In the mid-seventies Eli Content (Vevey, Switzerland, 1943) made his debut with extremely severe-looking, minimalistic paintings. At he same time he also made much looser cut outs with Matisse-like ornaments. This freedom he has always granted himself. He cannot and will not deprive himself nor the beholder.
In a letter dated October 12th 2012 he writes: The world that I want to show is more than just one uniform thing –as is usual in the art world- my world is manifold and is not restricted by just one style. His whole life he has been fascinated by the account of the Creation as described in the Bible Book of Genesis. “Whether this is true or not is unimportant to me. It is true because I think it is beautiful. It tells us about the animals that were there before us, about the trees, plants and the creation of man.” This narration is crucial in the monumental window...

About the artist:
A computer programmer and Webmaster by trade, Paul describes himself as a fine art photographer and a “digital manipulator.” His keen vision captures ordinary details from daily life and transforms them into images of beauty and wit, filled with contrasting shapes and effects.
Paul’s current series of abstract work focuses on macro images of nature combined with additional exposures of ice, snow, sand, and sky. These futuristic scenes, inspired by the writings of Kurt Vonnegut, offer a wry commentary on global warming and climate change. Paul’s work is printed on a variety of substrates including metal, paper, and canvas.

Description -
Julian Wasser started his career in photography in the Washington DC bureau of the Associated Press where he met and accompanied the famous news photographer Weegee – who would become a lasting influence on him. In the mid-60s Wasser moved to Los Angeles as a contract photographer for TIME, LIFE, and FORTUNE magazines and becoming internationally known as the go to guy for getting candid but memorably composed photographs. (His iconic images of Jack Nicholson and Anjelica Huston; Marcel Duchamp and Eve Babitz; and a young Jodie Foster are already classics.)
In 1968 TIME Magazine assigned Wasser to go to the home of the young writer Joan Didion whose book Slouching Towards Bethlehem was becoming a literary sensation. “I’d read her fiction,” said Wasser. “and she didn’t miss a thing. She was such a heavyweight person.”
Wasser shot Didion at her rented house on Franklin Avenue in Hollywood, where she lived with her husband, the writer John Gregory Dunne, and their daughter, Quintana Roo. “It was a nice, cozy house,” Wasser remembers. “And she was a very easy person to talk to...

WHAT IS A CYANOTYPE?
cyan = blue
type = print
Cyanotype is a historic photographic processes, invented in 1842 and used by Anna Atkins–the first female photographer. The process involves coating watercolor paper with light-sensitive chemistry made of iron salts. Photographic negatives are laid on top, exposed in the sunlight, and then washed in water to develop into the deep Prussian-blue unique to cyanotypes. Brings a moment of beauty and conversation to any space.

A supermoon is a full moon or a new moon that nearly coincides with perigee—the closest that the Moon comes to the Earth in its elliptic orbit—resulting in a slightly larger-than-usual apparent size of the lunar disk as viewed from Earth. The technical name is a perigee syzygy (of the Earth–Moon–Sun system) or a full (or new) Moon around perigee. The term supermoon is astrological in origin and has no precise astronomical definition.
The real association of the Moon with both oceanic and crustal tides has led to claims that the supermoon phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, but no such link has been found.
