Artist Vera Saiko’s work explores nature, flora, and animals through a dynamic blend of expressionism, abstract expressionism, and subtle surrealist elements. Her paintings are guided by harmonious color relationships and an intuitive approach that allows emotion and material to shape each composition. "My work begins with a thought or idea, and becomes an inner dialogue where questions and answers unfold through color, gesture, and process," says Vera. She approaches painting as an evolving exchange between intention and material, where artworks shift organically until thought becomes form. She works from a home studio, a conscious choice that allows her to respond freely when inspiration arises, beginning in quiet focus before sometimes continuing with music or audiobooks as the work develops. Beyond the studio, she leads a book club, teaches private students, and hosts creative workshops, while also traveling and attending symphony concerts with her husband.
