France has a long history of adoring and supporting circus troupes. Unknown to its many visitors, Paris hosts legendary circus companies complete with acrobats, clowns, trapeze artists, jugglers and animals. During that time he struck up friendships with several artists who gave him advice and taught him techniques of drawing.
