About the Artist:
My art is a visual recording of the powerful imagines that occur regularly in life, distilling them down and preserving the elements of energy, excitement, enthusiasm, drama and emotion. Much of my body of work is whimsical in nature, encouraging my viewers to take a step back, and reflect on the little moments that they encounter everyday. Most often created through bright and vibrant application of color, bold shadows and light, my work exudes a sense of energy that transcends its photographic style quality. The subjects I have most recently portrayed are children at the height of their innocence.

About the Artist:
John Francis Gallagher is a Boston-based contemporary artist. Born in Drogheda, Ireland in the Boyne Valley, he emigrated to the United States at 19. John worked in graphic design, advertising and architectural rendering before turning his hand, full-time, to painting. A self-taught figurative artist, his work has a vintage style that is influenced by the so-called pulp artists of the 20th century. In his large-scale canvases, tone is given precedent to create realism.
