About the Item

This is one of the famous theater's in Montmartre where all the paintings and artists gathered in the famous square. Gen Paul (1895-1955 Fr.) lived in Montmartre, Paris France. He is know for his action painting with quick brush strokes and this work of art was painted around 1955-1960. He was a musician who played the trumpet and lost his leg during the war and was a artist who lived and painted in Montmartre his whole life. I was privileged to have met his dealer on my early visits and discussed his paintings during my annual visits to Paris. Gen Paul like Maurice Utrillo liked to drink and enjoy life.
