About the Item
I created Aging Sucks at the beginning of my painting career. Modeled after a relative of mine, the man acts almost as an inverse to the car, which is old and run down. The young man, not having the worries that comes with getting older, appears oblivious to the reality of the Volkswagen's current state. Aging sucks because you become rusty, just like the appearance of the old car.
I intuitively paint each of my paintings based on my mood of the day or at that moment. I never know what I am going to create until I see the end result. Sometimes it is a colorful, jumbled mess. Or, I create bright and vibrant landscapes full of wildflowers or flowing waters. I appreciate the beauty of whatever happens as I did not know what I was going to create before I start.
