About the Item

About the artwork: On the surface, Arcanis draws his inspiration from large racing sailboats bearing many prestigious brands. But in essence, the boat and money are associated with freedom, as it allows us to travel beyond terrestrial borders and discover new horizons. This representation could suggest the idea that wealth provides access to freedom of choice by offering the opportunity to navigate to exotic destinations and experience luxury and comfort. However, this concept could also be interpreted as a critique of consumer society and the obsession with wealth... About the artist: Arcanis wasn't originally destined for a career in art, and yet... He began his career as a metalworker. It was while working in Switzerland, in a palace in Gstaad, that his artistic talent was awakened. There, he discovered numerous works of art of all kinds, and fell in admiration. So he thought, "Why not me? Combining his skills and ingenuity, Arcanis found his own path and developed his art. He used his knowledge of metallurgy and took up sculpture, which was the first step towards becoming an artist. His trademark was born with his "Le Bateau" concept. It combines craftsmanship with a certain aestheticism, resulting in a skilful blend between the hardness of metal and the softness of art. A bold, assertive design that perfectly represents Arcanis.

Naor is a French artist from Lyon born in 1988. Completely anchored in his time, he has always traveled a lot around the world. If travels form youth, Naor was inspired by it. From the top of his thirty years, he succeeded in retranscribing his observations, his feelings and his impressions. Thanks to his childlike supports, his contemporary details, he achieves a delicious harmony between softness and violence. This discrepancy constitutes his identity. Like life, marked by hardship, his works refer us to our own experiences. Finally, the use of luxury brands in a spirit of "Pop'art" allows him to pay homage or to denounce the way our societies...
