About the Item

Boldi is a Hungarian sculptor who creates works that express a balance between reason and emotion. His sculptures reveal not only the true form of human figures but also the emotions of the artist. Boldi's art is characterized by a subtle harmony of fantasy and reason, indicating both the maturity and creativity of the artist. Born in Hungary, Boldi has gained recognition for his work both nationally and internationally. His sculptures are known for their simple, clean lines and sensitivity to the world around him. He approaches the human form with respect and caring for all the creatures of nature. Boldi's art does not focus on a psychological perspective, but rather expresses his dreams and vision. Boldi's works can be found in public places and collections, including the Jardin de l’Université de Szeged, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank in Budapest, the Ministère de la Justice in Budapest, and the Gesztenyéskert in Budapest. He has also created relief sculptures for various institutions, such as the Cimetière Farkasréti in Budapest and the Casa di Santo Stefano in Rome. In 2011, Boldi created a sculpture of St. Francois in marble for the Église Paroissiale St Jean Baptiste in Budapest. In the same year, he also created the Trianon-Monument in bronze for Komárom, Hungary. Other notable works include the Genèse in marble, the Archer in bronze, and the 1956 – L’oiseau de la liberté s’élance in marble. Boldi's art captures the essence of his values in a simple yet integral manner. His finely crafted and chiselled planes show sensitivity to the world around him and how he can express his dreams and vision. Boldi's sculptures encourage the desire to touch them and appreciate how the light plays on each surface.
