About the Item

In the work of the sculptor and painter Samuel Salcedo, it is possible to raise a deep and at the same time fun reflection on the human condition. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and in Manchester. He works with different materials, managing to fool the eye with what he looks like and is not. Salcedo's works aim to emphasize the masked nature of human beings. An illusory, sometimes grotesque, often ridiculous but somehow decent condition of the postmodern citizen. His sculptures and characters always question the viewer with their subtle irony and vulnerability. Salcedo's sculptural work is characterized by technical excellence. One can see his mastery in the diversity of materials he uses (resin, wood, aluminum, bronze) and that makes up the paint. Graduated in Fine Arts, he studied at the University of Barcelona and the Manchester Metropolitan University in England. Since 1998 he exhibits in galleries and participates in international art fairs with 3 Punts Galeria. Salcedo has participated in individual exhibitions such as Bewilderment with 3 Punts Galería, 100 Kubik in Cologne or Listen with the Robert Drees Gallery in Hannover. In addition, his work has participated in contemporary art fairs such as Art Madrid, Swab, Frankfurt Art Fair, Art London, among others.
