Antique Crossbow

An exceptional early German crossbow dating to around 1540, crafted from antler, wood, and iron.

This remarkable windlass crossbow, dating from the late 15th to early 16th century, is a striking example of early European military craftsmanship, originating from Germany.

The original finish has been lightly scrubbed, which gives the wood a golden, sandy hue, allowing our Louis XV crossbow front commode to be paired with almost any color palette.

The striking composition includes a finely crafted crossbow, various arrowheads, a mace, and elegant longbows, showcasing the weaponry used during the age of chivalry.

Additionally, the inclusion of a crossbow and arrows can be seen in a romantic light, invoking the notion of "cupid's arrow" and the power of love's allure.
