Antique Fishing Floats

Antique net wrapped hand blown clear glass Japanese fishing float. Measures: 9".  

It is an item from the early Showa period (1920s-1940s). A type of fishing tool that floats in the sea. The inside is hollow and weighs 6 kg.

The straight sided jar is decorated with a large fishing net strung with floats, draped over a cobalt blue ground.
