A stunning and large antique 19th century tortoise shell, celluloid, or Bakelite hair comb or head piece with an intricate carved floral and open scroll work design.

Mounted with push button switch, bakelite. Designed 1928. This example was manufactured 1940s for Fritzsche's Glashandel.

The lamp is completely original and still has its original Bakelite bulb holder with on/off switch. Bakelite was invented in 1907 by scientist Leo Hendrik Baekeland.
